Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins 9:30 a.m.

Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety.

The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 though grade 6 begins at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for seventh and eighth grade students is at the same time.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need, who reside in the Lehighton Area School District, are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register for the instruction sessions. Baptismal class will be held Sept. 18, 1 p.m. Overview for prospective new members is held Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moore.

Trinity Lutheran Church was built in 1873. A series of events are forming to celebrate this milestone throughout 2023. You are invited to contribute ideas at a planning meeting 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 18.

Class of 1967

The Lehighton Class of 1967 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. on Sept. 23 at the Beacon Diner on Route 443 in Lehighton.

Class of 1968

The Lehighton Area High School Class of 1968 will hold a meeting to continue the planning of the 55th class reunion. The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Sept. 20 at the Phifer Ice Dam pavilion.
