Bowmanstown Borough Council

Bowmanstown Borough Council conducted the following business last week:

• Budget workshop meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 20, Oct. 18, and Nov. 15 at the borough hall. The meetings will be open to the public.

• Council tabled a change to the parking ordinance for campers on the street.

The current ordinance allows campers and trailers 24 hours for loading or unloading, then a fine of $25 per day after that. Suggestions made include allowing 72 hours to load and 72 hours to unload the campers, or require permits and charge fees.

• The borough is in discussion with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on having Bowmanstown plow Lime, Fireline and Bank streets, all of which are state streets.

PennDOT could either have additional road equipment available for the borough to use, or reimburse the borough for the cost of the plowing.

• Council voted to purchase a new chain saw rather that fix the old one, since the cost is about the same.
