Tuscarora man facing drug charges

Matthew Greenzweig, 19, of Tuscarora, is facing possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges after a Sept. 2 traffic stop by Tamaqua police.

Police said they stopped Greenzweig’s vehicle at 8:15 p.m. after noticing its registration plate lights weren’t functioning. When officers approached Greenzweig, they smelled marijuana and noticed he appeared nervous.

Greenzweig gave police consent to search his vehicle and found two ounces of marijuana in a backpack, marijuana oil, a scale and 16 small empty bags commonly used to transport marijuana.

Police said Greenzweig had a marijuana permission card but was told he could not legally transport marijuana in any other container than those from the dispensary.
