Monroe Co. inmate’s death ruled a suicide

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks were summoned to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 5 for a report of an unresponsive male inmate.

Police said the 56-year-old Long Pond man was pronounced dead and the coroner’s office was notified.

The death was called a suicide. Police said they are investigating the incident along with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
