Supervisors make quick work of East Penn Township business

The East Penn Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday was a brief one. Road items included noting the repair of potholes in the township and the plans for Cunfer Road are complete.

In unfinished business the civil complaint regarding Berger Creek will go to court on Sept. 21 at 10 a.m.

Grants from Local Share Account and T-Mobile are being looked into for the Ashfield playground bathroom structure. Estimates run from $20,000 for one room to $45,000 for two rooms.

Fire escrow funds were released to Troy McFarland, McFarland and Sons Inc., after the zoning officer cleared and inspected the property.

In new business, because no bids were received for Bake Oven Road, communication is needed with the state regarding funding. A motion was approved for the Tax Claim Bureau’s repository sale of Carbon County parcel #71A-9-107.

Long-term and short-term/life/vision were renewed with Brown and Brown, with no increase. A motion was approved for minimum municipal obligation for 2023 for pension plans at a cost of $45,335.

A motion passed to get bids for repairing the Community Center walls.

The next supervisors meeting is Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
