Class Reunion

Tamaqua High School Class of 1972 is holding a 50th class reunion on Sept. 24. There will be two meals, live music, open bar, games and prizes.

The class will meet at the high school on Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m. for a tour and then attend that evening’s football game.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Calvary Lewistown

Jeff Beauvais will offer the message at the 10:25 a.m. worship service at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Sunday evening service at 6 p.m.

Thrift Sale

Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting a one-day summer/back-to-school sale on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale features gently used summer clothing and school uniforms along with general household items, books and toys. A limited takeout kitchen menu is available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. (No checks.)

Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Aug. 23 with 37 members in attendance. Members on the sick list include: Jean Machamer, Dorothy DeWire, Doris Yeager, Bill Morrison, Alice Tite and Doris Brobst.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Christ Church, Barnesville at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Aug. 25 with 32 members in attendance. Treasurer Diane Gould opened the picnic with a prayer. The event was catered by Hess of Schuylkill Haven. Two baskets were chanced off. Winners were Shirley Kaiser and Ruthann Feane. Joan Wall was given a warm welcome.

The group meets every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Andreas VFW

Andreas VFW Post 5069 will hold their birthday banquet on Sept. 17 at Kneppers Inn at 6 p.m. Members and one guest are invited.
