September 1, 2012 - Trista Cunningham collects 31 kills during the Pine Grove Cardinal Clash tournament to help Northwestern open its inaugural volleyball season with a championship. The Tigers fall behind 7-2 in the championship match against Nativity before rallying for a 25-18 victory. Northwestern, who went 7-3 in pool play, defeats ELCO 25-14 in the quarterfinals before downing Shamokin 27-25 in the semis. Jordan Veppert adds 30 kills in the tourney, while Jenny Von Holt finishes with 28 kills. The Tigers also receive 48 assists from Sara Hufnagle and 39 digs from Marianna Valencia.
