Nesquehoning has been filling vacancies on various boards, but there are still spots to be filled.
Last week, council announced there are two vacancies on its zoning hearing board, as well as an alternate opening, and a vacancy on the planning commission.
The two boards review various projects that are proposed within the borough limits to make sure they meet zoning and plan development ordinances.
Upcoming zoning hearing and planning commission meetings have been requested for the Family Promise project, as well as a resident on East Catawissa Street.
To apply for one of these volunteer spots, send a letter of interest to the borough at 114 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa., 18240 before council’s September meeting.
In addition to vacancies, council accepted the resignation of John Orsulak from the civil service commission and appointed Michael Lopata to fill the vacancy.
Council also appointed Susan Highland and James Mikovich to serve on the newly formed blight committee.
