Barnesville woman charged with assaulting grandmother

A Barnesville woman has been charged with assaulting her grandmother.

Rush Township police charged Jaidyn Jadosh, 20, of the 200 block of Grier Avenue, with aggravated assault, a felony 1, simple assault, a misdemeanor 3, and harassment, a summary charge.

Police said on March 16, 2021, they responded to the residence for a report of a fall victim that may have been pushed. On scene police said ambulance personnel were attending to the grandmother who said she had an argument with Jadosh.

The woman said she and Jadosh got into an argument in the kitchen area. She said the granddaughter said she did not want to argue any more and wanted to go up to her bedroom. The grandmother said she stood in her way and put her arm out to stop her from leaving the room. At this time she said Jadosh pushed her out of the way and she fell and struck her head on the side of a washing machine.

Jadosh told officers she and her grandmother were arguing and she attempted to go upstairs to her bedroom. She said her grandmother stood in front of her and wouldn’t let her pass. She said she tried to move her out of the way and walk past her. She was able to get by her and went up stairs. She told officers that she did not look back to see what happened to her grandmother but she added, “I guess she fell.”

On Aug. 30, 2021, the grandmother called police and said she had just been released from the hospital. She said she suffered bleeding on her brain and needed extended rehabilitation. She then came to the police station and presented her medical records as proof.

Jadosh was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. before Bayer.
