No one was injured after a fire broke out at an East Penn Township home late Monday morning.

Township fire Chief Brenden McArdle said the fire happened just before noon at 2059 E. Lizard Creek Road.

McArdle said the fire was called in by a Bowmanstown fire police captain who lives across the street from the home.

He said once firefighters arrived, it was a working fire with smoke showing.

“There was extensive debris throughout the house,” McArdle said.

McArdle said the home was unoccupied, and there were no injuries.

He said it took firefighters between 20 to 30 minutes to knock down the fire.

McArdle said the home suffered moderate damage.

He said the cause of the fire was accidental in nature.

McArdle said firefighters were on scene for about four hours.

He said assisting at the scene were the Aquashicola Fire Department, Bowmanstown Fire Department, Franklin Township Fire Department, Palmerton Fire Department, Parryville Fire Company, Mahoning Valley Rehab Unit, and Palmerton Ambulance.
