Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Zion Men will meet this Saturday at 8 a.m. in Memorial Hall.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Aug. 18 with 26 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the reading “That Is What I Know.”

Pat Fredericks, Shirley Kaiser and Jean Machamer were added to the sick list.

Next meeting will be the summer indoor picnic, starting at noon.

The group meets every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Diaper Depot

Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its Sept. 24 distribution.

You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by Aug. 31. Sorry, no requests can be accepted for September after Aug. 31.

You will be given an appointment time for the Sept. 24 distribution.

The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child or children and some type of proof of residence. Diapers are available for children up to age 4 sizes NB to 6 and pull-ups 2T-3T and 3T-4T.

Diaper Depot is a community pantry of the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank.
