Repairs are planned for a section of Route 309 in Tamaqua, as well as other roadwork in the area, PennDOT announced.
The project in Tamaqua, which was greenlighted by PennDOT on July 25 according to spokesman Sean Brown, will be between Broad and Railroad streets on 309 in the borough.
The project includes base repair, milling, paving, handicap accessible ramps and new pavement markings.
The other work to be done, according to Brown, is resurfacing of Route 209 from west of the railroad crossing between Market and Patterson streets to the Carbon County line in Tamaqua and Coaldale boroughs, and resurfacing of Pine Street from 209 to 309.
The project is scheduled to finish in August 2023, Brown said.
Brown said PennDOT is waiting for a schedule from the contractor and will make that available to the public.
