The Panther Valley School Board acted on the following items during its monthly meeting this week.

• Accepted the resignations of Yarian Ortiz, cafeteria worker, and James Doerr-Niver, maintenance worker, both effective immediately.

• Reappointed Richard Holota as school police officer at a rate of $22.60 per hour for the 2022-2023 school year, and voted to approve the SPO Agreement with the Panther Valley School District.

• Voted to grant permission to Alice Andrews, elementary school teacher, to take a three-credit course titled “Applying Brain Research to Literacy Department and Instruction” at Wilkes University in the fall at the cost of $516 per credit. This is related to the professional duties that staff fulfill in supporting participation in county and IU activities that enhance district PR through development.

• Approved the agreement between Panther Valley School District and the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit for the period Aug. 22 through June 2, 2023.
