Eight Oaks Farm Distillery takes home gold for rye whiskey

Eight Oaks Farm Distillery won a gold medal for its penna rye whiskey at the American Craft Spirits Association’s latest conference. It also won silver medals for pinot bourbon, port rye whiskey and authentic applejack, and a bronze medal for aged applejack.

“We are especially excited to earn the gold medal for our Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey,” Founder & CEO Chad Butters said. “We grow all our own grains right here in the Lehigh Valley, with the help of our friends at Newhard’s Farms, and are completely committed to making the best whiskey from scratch.”

When talking specifically about the gold medal for rye whiskey, Director of Distillery Ops and Head Distiller Caitlin Fenstermacher said, “It feels like I’ve watched this whiskey grow up. From milling and mashing a few years back, to blending and bottling, and now seeing a gold medal sit beside the bottle brings such an overwhelming feeling of dedication, accomplishment and heart.” Eight Oaks Farm Distillery is a veteran-owned, family-run, modern farm distillery in New Tripoli.
