Carbon County court — DUI
A total of six defendants facing driving under the influence and related charges entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Thursday during a daylong session of DUI court.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted pleas from the following:
Tyler Kistler, 34, of Lehighton, entered pleas in two pending cases to one count each of DUI of a controlled substance and driving under suspension - DUI related.
He was arrested on the DUI count on Sept. 12, 2017, by Lehighton police and on the suspension count on May 7, 2018, also by Lehighton police.
Sentencing was deferred so Kistler can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and apply for the house arrest program.
Henry J. Rodriguez Jr., 52, of Reading, was arrested on Sept. 7, 2020, by Lansford police for DUI of alcohol.
Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Ricky Lee Green, 59, of Palmerton, was arrested on Oct. 15, 2021, by state police at Lehighton for DUI of a controlled substance. He refused a test.
He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000 and his license was suspended for a year.
He will begin serving the jail term at 9 a.m. on Sept. 1.
Dustin Joseph Roberts, 26, of Walnutport, was arrested on Oct. 9, 2021, by state police at Lehighton for DUI of alcohol.
He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000 and his license was suspended for a year.
He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on Sept. 6.
Daniel J. Smith, 54, of Weissport, was arrested on Jan. 21 by state police at Lehighton for DUI of a controlled substance.
Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Trish L. Hargrave, 28, of Hughestown, Luzerne County, was arrested on Feb. 18, 2020, by Palmerton police for DUI of a controlled substance.
Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of over $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
