The American Cancer Society Relay charity walk and luminaria service for the Anthracite Region will be Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Tamaqua High School stadium.

Groups are invited to form teams of just four people. Each team member pays a $10 registration fee and collects donations from friends. Teams walk a symbolic mile (four laps) or as much as they want.
