State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following cases:

• Troopers said Brenda Samuels, 61, of Lehighton, is facing driving under the influence and related charges following an incident on June 20 at 1:53 p.m. Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder in the 1300 block of Blue Mountain Drive, in Lehigh Township, Northampton County. It was discovered that Samuels, the driver, was under the influence of a controlled substance.

• On Aug. 10 at 11:50 p.m. troopers responded to East Patterson Street in Lansford for a report of a woman in the street. Upon arrival troopers were met by a 49-year-old woman from Lansford and a 50-year-old woman from Tamaqua. The Tamaqua woman, who troopers declined to identify, was under the influence of a controlled substance and was acting disorderly. Troopers took her into custody. Troopers said an assistant district attorney approved charges of simple assault and defiant trespass. She was then taken to the county prison in Nesquehoning.

• On Aug. 14 at 1:03 a.m. troopers responded to North Fireline Road and Main Street, in Parryville, Carbon County, for a person wanted to speak to police. Upon arrival troopers observed the complainant, a 46-year-old man from Palmerton, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A DUI charge will be filed.
