Schuylkill OKs budget adjustments

Schuylkill County commissioners on Thursday approved budget adjustments for four departments.

Budget adjustments are moving money among line items. They do not involve any increase in overall spending, said county Financial Director Paul E. Buber.

They were $1,000 for the coroner’s office; $12,800 for the Soil Conservation agency; $14,798 for the Emergency Management Agency; and $50,375 for the Drug & Alcohol Agency.

Buber detailed the Drug & Alcohol Agency’s request.

The amount represents $33,800 in expenditures, for an increase in the outreach program to raise awareness of substance issues, and for recovery support, and $16,575 is for new computers and printers.

Buber said the $2.5 million program is funded mostly by federal and state money, not the county’s general fund.
