Mahoning Township has agreed to release the Lehigh Valley Health letter of credit PennDOT improvements.

On a 3-0 vote, supervisors on Wednesday agreed to release the letter of credit in the amount of $2,687,947. Board Chairman Robert Slaw and Supervisor Brian Reeser were absent.

That came after the board tabled the matter at last month’s meeting.

In a related matter, supervisors released the amount of $4,859,609 LVH letter of credit with a remaining escrow balance of $700,638.

The $80 million, 100,578-square-foot Lehigh Valley Hospital - Carbon opened on June 8.
