Bowmanstown Borough Council

Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action on Tuesday:

• Announced there were two resignations from the borough planning commission. Council is looking for two people who are familiar with the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances to fill the seats.

• Announced that the garbage renewal packet was changed to 433 residential and eight commercial properties, and agreed to get a bid for prices with and without recycling.

• Agreed to buy a bicycle grate for a storm drain by the Bowmanstown Diner.

• Agreed to place a fire lien on the property at 255 Fireline Road due to delinquent sewer and garbage fees.

• Agreed to continue the COVID-19 policy allowing employees three paid days one time.

• Agreed to allow residents to get clean fill and compost from the borough garage.

• Announced that the playground wall has been repaired with backfill and a new drain pipe,

• Announced that an invitation was received to the Police Training building and Fire Training tower Grand Event at 1 p.m. Sept. 11 in Nesquehoning.

• Announced that the ninth annual dog show will be held Oct. 1 at the Bowmanstown Fire Company, including a silent auction.

• Announced the next meeting of borough council will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 6.
