HOP inlets will cost borough over $60K

A project for highway occupancy permit inlets will cost Bowmanstown over $60,000.

Borough council on Tuesday awarded a bid in the amount of $62,672 to Lehigh Asphalt for the HOP inlets.

Oak Street paving was expected to be completed this week, and Lehigh Asphalt will return to pave Craig Street.

Lehigh Asphalt will also be doing ADA ramps on Ore Street, at Lime Street and Stoney Hill Street, and Forge and Apple streets.

Milling and paving was expected to begin this week on Lime Street and Sander Street.

Asphalt Maintenance Solutions will do the Ore Street bituminous seal coat project Aug. 11-12.

In other road-related matters, a resident asked about repairing a hole on Fireline Road, as well as lowering the speed limit there. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will be contacted regarding these issues.
