State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported two area crashes:

• A two-vehicle crash happend at 12:42 p.m. on July 25 along Route 534, at the intersection with Cherokee Drive, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said David J. Cudak, 34, of Albrightsville, driving a 2008 Dodge Charger, was attempting to make a unsafe left turn from Cherokee Drive onto 534 and caused a 2002 Mercury Sable, operated by Karen A. Gorman, 72, of Albrightsville, to hit his Charger.

Gorman was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Franklin Township, by Lehighton ambulance. Cudak, who was not injured, was cited for the crash.

• State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 10:48 p.m. on July 20 along Long Woods Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said David M. Gavinovich, 21, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry westbound and approaching Old Orchard Drive. Gavinovich was attempting to negotiate a right curve when he lost control and traveled about 30 feet before going onto the berm and striking a tree.

Gavinovich suffered a minor injury but required no medical treatment. The vehicle had to be towed.

He was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
