Woman faces drug charges, endangering welfare of children

Chrystie L. Pitman, 31, of Meckes Lane, White Haven, is facing various charges after Kidder Township police responded to her residence at 11:22 a.m. July 16.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Joseph D. Homanko on charges of endangering the welfare of children, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. Police said she is being held at the Carbon County Correctional Institute, Nesquehoning, after police also learned she had an arrest warrant against her in Luzerne County.

In an affidavit of probable cause, officer Jacob Dinkelacker said he arrived at the scene and took Pitman into custody without issue after she showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Later, an elderly victim of the incident told police Pitman threatened to kick her out of the residence and stated she wants the victim dead. Police said two children between the ages of 8 and 10 were in the home at the time of Pitman’s rampage.

Police said they found a glass-smoking pipe containing burnt residue on it, a metal smoking pipe with a burnt leafy substance on it and four used hypodermic syringes, one containing suspected heroin. Police said one needle was located less than a foot from a child’s scooter and would have been easily accessible by the children in the residence.
