• A Veteran Appreciation Night will be held at the Carbon County Fair on Aug. 8. The fair opens at 4 p.m.

The first 50 veterans will receive free entry to the fair with tickets courtesy of Together with Veterans and Palmerton Lions Club.

To sign up for a free ticket, call or email the Veterans Affairs office by Aug. 5.

• The next Vietnam Veteran Coffee and Camaraderie will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. on Aug. 11 at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Education Room.

• Older veterans and their spouses can find out if they qualify for a higher level of pension during a free seminar at Heritage Hill Senior Community.

The event on veterans benefits will take place at noon on Aug. 9, at Heritage Hill, 800 Sixth St., Weatherly. Lunch will be provided.
