Tamaqua police log
Tamaqua Police released details on the following cases:
• Miguel Villanueva, 39, of Tamaqua, faces charges of driving under the influence after he drove his car into three parked vehicles around 4:28 a.m. July 3. Tamaqua police were dispatched to 431 N. Railroad St. for the crash, and spoke to Villanueva. Officers said he appeared intoxicated and admitted to drinking several beers.
He failed a series of field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was transported to St. Luke’s Miners Hospital in Coaldale but refused to have a blood alcohol test.
Police said all three vehicles struck by Villanueva suffered major damages.
• Tamaqua police charged Katelin M. Yezierski, 27, of Jim Thorpe, with resisting arrest and providing false identification to law enforcement officers following an incident at 1:02 a.m. July 20 in the borough.
Police were investigating an incident involving Yezierski and two other people. When asked her name, she provided police with a false one. Eventually, the other two people identified her.
Police learned Yezierski was wanted on warrants from Schuylkill, Carbon and Luzerne counties.
As police attempted to take her into custody, she began to fight with them and threw herself onto the floor of a car. Officers eventually removed Yezierski from the car and carried her to the police cruiser.
She was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison.
• Amanda Fisher, 31, of Tamaqua, was cited for defiant trespass by borough police.
Police said Fisher had been banned from entering the Family Dollar store in Tamaqua following a previous retail theft. She entered the store at 1:50 p.m. July 19 and did not heed employees’ warnings to leave, police said.
• Tamaqua police charged Zachary Evans, 29, of Tamaqua, with harassment after he struck a woman in the face at 4:54 p.m. on July 6 in Tamaqua.
