State police at Bethlehem

State police at Bethlehem reported on the following cases:

• On July 6 at 8:53 a.m. at Park Avenue and Opossum Lane, in Washington Township, Lehigh County, a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado was driven through an active work zone. The driver failed to regard the flagger showing “stop” and continued. A passenger, Chad Knauer, 43, of Slatington, rolled down the window of the vehicle and waved a claw hammer at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation workers as he was leaving the work zone.

Knauer has been charged with disorderly conduct.

• On July 9 at 7:55 p.m. Brenda Kates, 56, of Slatington, failed to keep her dog confined to her property. The dog left the property and bit the victim, a 17-year-old girl from Slatington, in the area of Swamp Hollow and Clover Hollow roads in Washington Township. She was cited under the state dog law.

• Troopers investigated an incident that occurred on June 12 at 8:29 p.m. at KidsPeace, located along Kidspeace Drive, in North Whitehall Township. Troopers said a 13-year-old girl from Harrisburg, a resident at the facility, engaged in a fight with staff members. She struck a 44-year-old female staff member from Tamaqua in the face. She was cited for harassment.

Troopers added that during the altercation other juveniles at the facility started to act out, causing a “riot-like” environment for both staff members and residents.

• On May 18 at 2:46 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2019 Honda Civic in the 3600 block of Mauch Chunk Road, in North Whitehall Township. It was determined that the driver, Stacie Coronado, 26, of Slatington, was under the influence of alcohol and incapable of safe driving. Police also found a small baggie containing a white powdery substance. She was taken into custody and transported to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center for processing.

• On June 10 at 10:16 a.m. Daniel Magliane, 43, of Slatington, was observed on surveillance video trespassing in the Village C-Store, located along Route 873, in Washington Township, after being previously cited for simple trespass earlier in the day. He was now cited for defiant trespass for defying a prior trespass order to stay away from the business.

• On June 25 at 8 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the Schnecksville Fair, located at 4550 Old Packhouse Road, in North Whitehall Township, for a reported assault. Troopers made contact with Steven Hale, 35, of Slatington, and Carey Granger, 46, of Minersville. Both accused the other of pushing each other during an argument over fair rides.

They were cited for harassment - physical contact.

• On May 30 at 10:49 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2012 Kia Optima at West Main and Bridge streets in Bath, Northampton County. Police determined that the driver, a 28-year-old woman from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of marijuana. Charges were filed.
