Trinity happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins 9:30 a.m. Holy Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup.

Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Sarah Moore assists.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes.

The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place.

Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register for the 11:30 a.m. instruction sessions for July. Baptismal guidelines are held on the third Sunday monthly. Overview for prospective New Members is Sunday with Pastor Moore.

Community Vacation Bible School for students pre-K through sixth grade is Aug. 2-4, 6-8 p.m. The theme: “Making Waves; What You Do Today Can Change the World.”

Trinity Lutheran Church was built in 1873. Plans are forming to celebrate this milestone throughout 2023.
