The second annual Backyard Bash will be held this Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. each night.

“It’s amazing how quick time flies by. We’ve been planning the Backyard Bash since November; and, this Friday, it all starts at 5 p.m.”

Deneen DiGilio of the Backyard Bash Committee at SS. Peter & Paul Church, Lehighton, said this year’s party has a lot to offer.

There will be food, games, a cake walk, bingo, face painting, a 50/50 drawing, gift card raffle, and more.

“We will have live entertainment both nights,” DiGilio said. “On Friday, the Justin Skyler Band will perform from 6 to 9. On Saturday, the Villagers Polka Band will entertain from 7 to 10 p.m.”

“This year we are offering some free giveaways,” DiGilio said. “On Friday, we will be giving away 20 backpacks filled with school supplies; four each hour starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, we will be giving away six bicycles. For adults on Saturday, we will be giving away a fire pit, two zero-gravity chairs, and a cooler filled with fireside goodies. Tickets for all of these will be available at the festival.”

The Backyard Bash will be held at the parish grounds at Third and Coal streets, Lehighton, and is open to the public.
