Monroe County Commissioners

Monroe County Commissioners approved the following:

• Changed the contract period of the 2022 Law Enforcement Gaming grant to July 16, 2022, through July 15, 2023.

Law Enforcement Gaming Grants may be awarded to defray costs related to assigning officers or investigators to prevent, deter, enforce or investigate unlawful gambling, as well as other programs that address prevention and enforcement of unlawful gambling within the county.

• Approved requests to work additional work hours for the treasurer’s office for the weeks ending July 15 and July 22.

• Approved the overtime request for the sheriff’s office for deputies, 3.5 hours; security, 42.25 hours; and clerks, 13.50 hours.

• Monroe County Area Agency on Aging appointed Justin Ortiz to the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Advisory Board, with a term to expire Dec. 31, 2024. He is replacing Chris Grape Garvey.

• The following people were appointed to the Area Agency on Aging: Joan Harrison with a term to expire July 6, 2025, and Barbara Van Nortwick with a term to expire July 6, 2025.

• Monroe County Children and Youth Services agreements: 1. Clear Vision Residential Treatment Services Inc. for July 1 through June 30, 2023, up to $125,000; service agreement with People R Us Community Residential Services Inc. July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, to allow for a correction in their rates and to add new services; Child First Services Inc., correction in their per diem rates.

• The budget adjustment report dated June 30, totaling $731,086.

• Changed the IRS standard rate mileage reimbursement to 62.5 cents per mile, effective July 1.

• Adopted a Remote Work Policy for Children and Youth case workers, Aging Care Managers and Aging Community Health Nurses.

“We have adopted the remote work policy because after talking to the workers, it is sometimes easier to leave to see your client from your home, instead of driving into the office and then leaving to go to your client,” said Commissioner John Christy.

• Courthouse expansion change orders: Lobar Construction, additional $132,756.18; LTS Plumbing and Heating Inc., additional $27,846.79 and $95,990.87.
