Lehighton Area Pool Pals to host Family Fun Night

Lehighton Area Pool Pals will host their ever-popular annual Family Fun Night.

The event will be held from 7-10 p.m. July 30 under the lights at Baer Memorial Swimming Pool.

A $10 donation will include food, drinks, music, games and a night of laughter for the entire family. Children, 12-and-under, will be admitted for $5.

All money raised at this year’s event will go toward the Linda Schoenberger Memorial Swim fund, according to Mark Hoffman, chairman of Lehighton Area Pool Pals.

Thanks to the money in this fund, the Pool Pals this year were able to provide seven financially struggling families with season passes, Hoffman said.

“The Pool Pals have established a goal to raise enough money this year to be able to award even more family passes in 2023,” he said. “A family pass entitles the holder of the pass to free swim lessons which can perhaps someday save a person’s life.”

Hoffman said Stevie Ray DJ will be on hand to make sure there are plenty of good songs as well as a multitude of games for everyone to enjoy.

He said the crowd favorite water balloon toss will once again be open to all ages to allow everyone to feel like a kid again.

Hoffman said the Pool Pals have also been busy planning some new games that will be geared for families, children and even adults.

To help raise additional money for the swim fund, he said there will also be a basket raffled off during the evening. Anyone wishing to purchase advance tickets for the basket can contact any Pool Pal member.

“As always, the Pool Pals are eternally grateful to the many in our community that have supported them and their initiatives over the years allowing Lehighton to have a community pool we can all be proud of,” Hoffman said. “The Pool Pals established the Linda Schoenberger Memorial Swim fund in the hope that anyone wanting to enjoy our community pool has the ability to do so.”

In case of rain, Hoffman said the Pool Pals will be sure to share the rescheduled date with as much heads-up notice as possible.
