Owners of two stuffed animals found in borough park sought

They’re unique, and right now without a home.

Over the weekend, two stuffed animals were found by Lehighton police in the Lehighton Borough Park.

Early Tuesday morning, the Lehighton Police Department posted information on its Facebook page in which it asks the owners of the stuffed animals to contact them to reclaim their possessions.

“Over the weekend, we had an awesome time with the Lehighton Downtown Partnership - LDP and Star Wars Saturday. After everyone left, we found two stuffed animals. They are very unique and look like they were well cared for.”

Police encouraged the owners or someone they know who lost the two stuffed animals to contact the police department at 610-377-4003 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“We would need a description before releasing them. We want to make sure they go the right family.”

Contacted Wednesday morning, Lehighton police Detective Matt Arner said hopefully the owners can call and describe them.

“These are fairly unique stuffed animals that were very well cared for, and not ones that you would just leave around, so we’re hoping to get them returned to whatever family had left them there,” Arner said. “We just want to reunite them to whomever they belong to.

“We truly appreciate when we have activities in the park, and we’re very happy to help them out.”
