The Jim Thorpe 11’s and 12’s each posted victories in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament on Tuesday. The Tamaqua 12’s also recorded a victory.

Tamaqua 11’s-Jim Thorpe 12’s

Two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning helped the Jim Thorpe 12’s rally for an 11-10 win over the Tamaqua 11’s in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament.

Hoherchak (two runs scored) and A. Kiehl (run scored) each had two hits and three RBIs for Jim Thorpe, which trailed 10-9 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, Sandquist had a hit and two RBIs for the winners, while Gothard and Faust also collected hits.

G. Shannon doubled and hit a home run with two RBIs and three runs scored for Tamaqua, while R. Holmberg also had three RBIs and a run scored. B. Eltringham had a hit and two RBIs, with M. Evans (two runs scored), J. Thomas (run scored), J. Rex (RBI, run scored), T. Hartman (run scored) and J. Oakes (run scored) also collecting hits.

Towamensing-Jim Thorpe 11’s

The Jim Thorpe 11’s posted a 9-2 win over Towamensing in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament.

Marshall Domski had three hits, including a double, for Jim Thorpe with two runs scored. Kade Levan added a pair of hits and scored twice, while Lucas Knopf, Bobby Levins and Ben Remmel each doubled and scored a run.

Domski started for Jim Thorpe and surrendered just three hits with six strikeouts.

P. Ahner had a hit and scored a run for Towamensing. X. Ahner and L. Rivera also had hits.

Tamaqua 12’s-Franklin 11’s

The Tamaqua 12’s rolled to an 18-1 win over the Franklin 11’s in four innings in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament.

Jake Fritzinger (RBI, three runs scored) and Ace Schickram (two RBIs, two runs scored) each had a pair of hits for Tamaqua, with Schickram collecting a double. Brandon Case hit a two-run home run, while Matthew Giuliano (two runs scored), Aidan Elston (RBI, run scored), Nicholas Polakovic (run scored) and Nico Conahan (three runs scored, RBI) each delivered triples.

L. Steigerwalt had a pair of hits for Franklin.

PM West-Towamensing/Anthracite

Pocono Mountain West opened the 8-10 year-old sectionals with a 6-4 win over Towamensing/Anthracite.

Starting pitcher Bella Marques struck out 11 for Towamensing/Anthracite, while also adding a single and a double with an RBI and a run scored. Abby Marques walked and scored a run, and Kensington Strohl collected a hit and scored a run.
