Carbon County court — ARD
Five defendants in pending driving under the influence cases were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday by Judge Joseph J. Matika.
If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.
All were placed for a year.
Brittany Marie Hahn, 28, of Palmerton, was arrested on Dec. 18, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Hahns Dairy Road. A test showed 0.10 BAC.
She was assessed $500 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 30 days.
Paige Ashie Shellhammer, 19, of Lehighton, was arrested on Jan. 5 by state police at Lehighton for DUI of a controlled substance, along Bridge Street in Lehighton.
She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 90 days.
Logan Douglas Hine, 27, of Lehighton, was arrested on Nov. 20, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township. A test revealed a 0.08 BAC.
He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.
Brittany Marie Jones, 29, of West Hazleton, was arrested on Nov. 27, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Lizard Creek Road in Bowmanstown for DUI of a controlled substance.
She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Tyler Scott Walton, 25, of Germansville, Lehigh County, was arrested on Feb. 27, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Route 443 in Lehighton. A test showed 0.09 BAC and controlled substances were also present.
He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of over $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
