Matthew J. Ullman, 23, of Tamaqua, was cited by state police at the Fogelsville barracks with limitations on “overtaking on the left” after a two-vehicle crash at 3:25 p.m. June 24 in Upper Saucon Township.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Jeep Patriot on the on-ramp from Route 309 northbound to Interstate 78 westbound when he unsafely passed a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Hallett A. Patrick Jr., 65, of Browns Summit, North Carolina.

Police said the Jeep struck the Silverado and both vehicles continued westbound and stopped on the right shoulder of the road.

Police said the vehicles sustained disabling damages and needed to be towed from the scene.

No injuries were reported.
