Fern Ridge police report on Chestnuthill thefts

Three people were charged on July 1 for a burglary at a Monroe County property.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers responded to Bracts Road in Chestnuthill Township, at 2:23 p.m. for a reported break-in. The suspects entered the property and removed various items.

The three were taken into custody at the scene and identified as a 65-year-old man, 55-year-old woman, both from Effort; and a 29-year-old woman form Saylorsburg. Troopers declined to identify the suspects by name.

The three were charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State police are also investigating a theft from the Tractor Supply store.

Troopers said a lawn tractor that was on display in front of the Chestnuthill Township store was stolen sometime on July 2. The criminals had to cut through some heavy metal wire and a wheel lock to get to the mower.

The lawn mower is valued at $4,399.99. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
