July 5, 1952 - Steve Vitek collects three hits and Johnny Zuzu smacks a home run to help Lansford rally from an early deficit to gain a 6-4 Tri-County League victory over Tamaqua. Zuzu connects for a two-run blast in the home third with his team trailing by a 3-0 score. A Vitek single to open the fifth leads to a two-run rally that puts Lansford ahead for good. Zuzu adds another RBI in the seventh. Ziggy Kosciolek gains the pitching win, tossing all nine innings. He walks six and strikes out 12. The winners also receive a hit and three runs from Dick Davidyock. For Tamaqua, John Dalcin ends with three hits and a run.
