State police at Lehighton are investigating a murder-suicide Sunday night in East Penn Township.

At about 9 p.m., state police responded to 142-3 Daubert Lane, East Penn Township, Carbon County, for a report of a deceased man and woman inside the residence. Both victims were discovered with apparent gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as Gary L. Daubert, 70, and his wife Beth Ann, 66.

Police determined Gary Daubert shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.

Trooper Nicholas A. De La Iglesia, Troop N – Lehighton, Criminal Investigation Unit, is conducting the investigation.
