July 2, 1996 - Rich Evanko collects four hits, one a double, to help lead Nesquehoning to a convincing 24-1 victory over Beaver Banks in the opening round of the District 18 11-12 Little League tournament. Rich Padora adds three hits - two of them doubles - while Harry Gasker contributes a home run and a single in the lopsided decision. The winners also receive two hits from Mike Brogan, John Maurer and Frank Maurer, while Tommy Kattner picks up the mound victory.
