The new Hometown Fire Company pumper truck, built by Pierce Manufacturing of Appleton, Wisconsin, was put into service Sunday after it was driven from Appleton to Hometown by fire company members.

Overseeing the company’s operations is fire Chief Bob Runk.

The new truck features a 1,000-gallon-per-minute pump and has a 1,000-gallon booster tank.

The cost of the vehicle is about $79,000.
