School leaders get 3% raise Lehighton board approves 1-year pact

Lehighton Area School District’s board of directors agreed to a one-year pact Monday night that calls for its administrators under the Act 93 agreement to get a 3% salary raise for 2022-23.

The compensation plan runs from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.

According to the agreement, 15 Lehighton administrators fall under the contract with their salaries currently totaling $1.04 million for 2022-23. Two positions, the assistant to the superintendent and supervisor of building and grounds, are currently open, so their salaries are not yet included in the total.

Other positions in the contract include director of special services, high school principal, high school assistant principal, elementary 3-5 principal, elementary K-2 principal, middle school principal, human resources business administrator, athletic director, supervisor of alternative education/assistant supervisor of special services/district assessment coordinator, curriculum and technology director, administrative secretary to the superintendent, confidential secretary to the assistant to the superintendent, and accountant.

Act 93 administrators/employees are eligible to receive the same health benefit options as provided under the Lehighton Area Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If they choose not to receive district health benefits, employees will be paid $200 per month.

Each Act 93 administrator/employee who elects health coverage shall pay a premium share equal to 2% percent of his/her base salary.
