Tamaqua posted a victory in the District 18 8-10-year-old Little League Tournament on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Northern Valley picked up a win in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action, while Berlinsville was victorious in the Blue Mountain League.

Tamaqua

A quick start propelled Tamaqua to a 10-0 win over Tri-County/Weatherly in the District 18 8-10-year-old Little League Tournament.

Chayse Barron was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for Tamaqua, which opened up a 5-0 lead after the first inning.

Jaxon Faneck doubled and tripled with an RBI and three runs scored, while Ryan Geronimo added a hit with two RBIs and a run scored, and Tavin Makovec had a hit with an RBI and two runs scored.

Porter Wilson also had a hit and an RBI, while Colton Gerber collected a hit and scored a run. Aiden Barrett allowed one hit through three innings with three strikeouts, while Makovec finished the victory with a scoreless inning of relief with two strikeouts.

Three Northern Valley pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout as the Chargers posted a 9-0 Connie Mack League victory over Palmerton.

Starter and winning hurler Josh Lichman went the first four frames, allowing both hits while striking out seven. Watson Church tossed two hitless innings, with Josh Farber closing things out with a perfect seventh frame.

Farber also added a hit and two RBIs to the winning effort, while Aiden Freeman collected a pair of hits, a run and an RBI. Bobby Croneberger and Jacob Fagen both chipped in with a hit and two runs scored.

For the Blue Bombers, Matthew Domski and Trevor Stroup both had hits.

Northern Valley upped its record to 9-2, while Palmerton fell to 4-10-1.

Limeport-Berlinsville

A four-run fifth inning lifted Berlinsville to a 6-2 Blue Mountain League victory over Limeport.

Austin Mueller drilled a two-run homer for the Braves during that fifth frame.

The winners, now 7-11, also received a pair of hits - one a triple - and three RBIs from TJ Schmalzle. Jack Chapman added two hits and a run, while Colin Houck chipped in with a double, run and RBI.

Noah O’Malley tossed five innings, allowing five hits and two runs. He walked four and struck out five.

Northwestern grad Jake Augustus had a hit and an RBI for Limeport (9-8).

Pine Grove-Tamaqua

Pine Grove pushed across four runs in the top of the fourth inning to secure a 6-2 win over Tamaqua in a Schuylkill-Berks Legion contest.

Daniel Zimmerman was 4-for-4 with three RBIs for the Grovers. Owen Hannevig doubled among his two hits with an RBI and a run scored, while Ty Drumheller and Shea Morgan also added two hits and scored a run. Logan Zimmerman went the distance on the mound, striking out seven.

Cian McLaughlin (run) and Timmy Fritzinger each had two hits for Tamaqua, while Steven Hoffman added a double, and Blaise Gigli added a hit and an RBI.
