Lehighton Area school board

Lehighton Area School District’s board of directors approved the following personnel matters Monday night:

• Job descriptions for the assistant to the superintendent, supervisor of alternative education/assistant supervisor of special services/district assessment coordinator, and supervisor of building and grounds.

• Hiring of Vanessa Rimbey, middle school physical education/health teacher with an annual salary of $45,850; Mary Boaz, elementary guidance counselor with an annual salary of $43,850; Veronica Scarpati, high school math teacher with an annual salary of $45,000; Jennifer Calhoun, elementary music teacher with an annual salary of $43,000; and Rachel Serfass, middle school reading specialist with an annual salary of $43,000.

• Janine Partenio as Lehighton Area School District’s open records officer beginning July 1, 2022.

• The cooperative school nurse practicum affiliation agreement with Eastern School of Nursing for the 2022-23 school year. The agreement is for a one-time placement of a student teacher to be placed in the elementary center, middle school and high school.

• An agreement with John W. Corby for Corby to assist the district as acting superintendent/acting assistant superintendent, from July 1 through no later than Aug. 31, 2022, at a cost of $650 per day.

• Appointment of acting superintendent John W. Corby as the district school safety and security coordinator from July 1-Aug. 31, 2022.

• The administrative support understanding between the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 and the district for services provided by Timothy Tkach. Tkach will be employed by the district from July 1, 2022, until Sept. 2, 2022, for up to 29 hours per week at $72 per hour.

• The employment contract with James R. Schwab to provide psychologist services not to exceed seven hours per week for 39 weeks for the 2022-23 school year at a rate of $110 per hour.

• Resignations of Amber Williams, paraprofessional; Megan Repsher, 12-month secretary; and Kerri Miller, social worker.

• Barbara Bowes as school board for a one-year term effective July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.
