This year, in conjunction with Palmerton Day, The Concourse Club of Palmerton is holding its newest event on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Third Street alongside the Borough Park. Chalk the Walk is open to all ages. Preregistration for the free event is required with a sign-up deadline of Saturday. The link for online registration is available on the Concourse Club Facebook page and their website, www.concourseclub.org. Chalk will be available to those who need it the morning of the event.

Participants will be asked to post their creations on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #ccctw2022. The post with the most likes from these platforms will be eligible to win a $50 gift card to Claude’s Creamery. Two prizes will be awarded, one in each of the following age categories: 12 years and under and 13 years and older. Additionally, a $5 Claude’s gift card will be presented to the first 15 registrants who complete their artwork on the day of the event.

“We are looking to add to the festivities of Palmerton Day,” says committee chair, Pat Kern, “So you don’t want to miss Chalk the Walk! It is a fun way for families to spend time together and creatively add to their holiday weekend.” Awards will be presented to the winners at the end of the duck race planned from 3-4 p.m. With no rain date for Palmerton Day, participants will be notified of any cancellation by email Sunday morning.
