The Miss Greater Hazleton Scholarship Program will be held Aug. 21 at the Pennsylvania Theater of Performing Arts in Hazleton.

The program is open to all Pennsylvania residents, students and employees ages 5 to 25.

There are four competitive divisions including Miss (ages 18-25); Teen (13-18); Pre-Teen (9-12) and Princess (5-8).

Winners can win more than $1,000 in prizes and scholarships. Multiple titles will be awarded for those in Northeastern Pennsylvania and throughout the commonwealth.

Competition phases include private interview, fitness and wellness, talent and evening gown.

The program helps participants to gain confidence, grow personally, improve interview and public speaking skills and develop a resume.

Winners of the Miss and Teen divisions will have the opportunity to proceed to the Miss Pennsylvania Volunteer competition Oct. 8-9 in Haverford.

Deadline to enter is Aug 12.

There will be pizza party information sessions held at the Hazle Township Commons, behind the Hazle Township fire company on Route 309, at 2 p.m. June 26 and July 10, and at 6 p.m. July 21.
