Adoptions

Did you know you can adopt a Lehigh Valley Zoo animal?

Visit www.shoplvzoo.com/adopt to view animals up for symbolic adoption.

All proceeds from the adopt purchases go directly toward animal education and conservation efforts at Lehigh Valley Zoo.

Every symbolic adoption comes with a photo of your adopted animal, a fact sheet about the animal, either an adult or two children zoo tickets, a stuffed animal and a personalized certificate of the adoption.

Current animals include the mongoose lemur, leopard tortoise, Mexican gray wolf, red kangaroo, Linnaeus’ sloth, Masai giraffe, American bison and African penguin.

Fourth of July celebration

Join the zoo on July Fourth to celebrate Independence Day.

The zoo will be giving away free flags while supplies last, plus be sure to keep an eye out for patriotic themed enrichment inside some of the exhibits. See who’s taller - the Masai Giraffes, or Uncle Sam on stilts from Grins and Grins LLC, who will perform from noon-2 p.m. Stop by the barnyard from noon to 2 p.m. to listen to patriotic anthems from the Allentown Hobo Band. Grab a bite to eat from Geakers at the Zoo or Tripps BBQ Food Truck.

Breakfast with the beasts

Join the zookeepers and all your furry friends for the zoo’s annual Breakfast with the Beasts event. This special event will be offered over four event dates (July 9, 10, 16 and 17). Breakfast begins at 8 a.m.

Enjoy early morning access to the zoo when the animals are often most active along with a guided tour to learn about the background of some of our animals, their conservation stories and more.

Educators will also introduce you to some of our Ambassador Animals. Plus, you will be treated to a catered buffet style breakfast including French toast sticks, mini bagels, bacon, eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and juice.

Princess Belle and the Beast will also be available for pictures between 8-10 a.m. courtesy of Joanna Bertalan of ProfessionalSingingPrincess.com.

As a bonus, your breakfast with the Beasts ticket includes daytime admission to the Zoo.

Zoocoustic Night

Looking for the perfect excuse to hang out with friends and family while listening to a variety of music?

The Lehigh Valley Zoo will host the fourth annual Zoocoustic Night on July 23 from 5-9 p.m. Enjoy the Valley’s most unique music venue featuring acoustic music from your favorite local artists like Kendal Conrad, Stacy Gabel, Erin Kelly, John Strasburger and more.

Attendees who are 21 and older will also have sampling opportunities from local wineries and breweries. A variety of food, beer, wines, seltzers and ciders will also be available for purchase. Plus - grab your favorite gourmet tacos, burgers and more from Geakers at the Zoo.

Stages will be located throughout the zoo where musicians will be playing simultaneously and music will be continuous throughout the event.

Guests must be 21 years of age or older with valid photo ID to sample wine or purchase alcoholic refreshments.

All proceeds from this fundraising event go toward the zoo’s conservation mission of saving species and creating a greener future.

Christmas in July

Find your festive holiday spirit with Christmas in July at the Lehigh Valley Zoo on July 25. Take photos with Summer Santa from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.in the gazebo and enjoy special Christmas in July merchandise sales in the summertime.

Fiesta en el Zoo

Enjoy an evening of music, dancing, food and adult beverages among the animals at the first-ever Fiesta en el Zoo fundraiser on Aug. 6, from 5-9 p.m.

Come dance to music of the Latin culture with live performances by The Lehigh Valley Urban Latin Orquesta. Also, treat yourself to authentic cuisine vended by the Puertorrican Cultural Preservation Inc. as well as Geakers Tacos. Attendees who are 21 and older will have the opportunity purchase a variety of adult beverages.

Animals will be out for the first part of the evening but will start getting shifted into their indoor habitats 1 hour before sunset.
