Kids Closet Sale moving to new location

The Kids Closet Sale this week announced it is moving its fall event to the new Slatington Expo Center at the Slatington Marketplace. The sale was previously held at Penn’s Peak.

“This more spacious location will provide consignors and shoppers with a more efficient experience,” said Jen Benninger, ad director for the Times News and coordinator of the Kids Closet Sale.

The sale is set for Sept. 13-15 at the center, located on Route 873 in Slatington.

“We are excited to move to this centralized location, with easy access for our shoppers from all the counties we serve,” Benninger said.

The semiannual consignment sale is a win for families throughout the area. People can bring clothes, toys, books and other children’s items that they no longer need and sell them on consignment. In turn, people can purchase these barely used items at a fraction of the cost of buying new items.

“With the costs for families at an all-time high, we expect this to be our most popular sale yet,” Benninger said.

At the spring event, the average consignor made $301 and sold 106 items.

“This event goes a long way to help people clean out their closets and fill in some budget gaps,” Benninger said. In spring, 19,000 items were available for sale.
