Bailor has successful track season at Monmouth

Jim Thorpe graduate A.J. Bailor recently completed a successful freshman season competing in the shot put, weight throw, hammer throw, and discus throw for NCAA Division 1 Monmouth University.

During the outdoor season, Bailor earned a bronze medal in the shot put (14.99m), while placing fifth in the hammer throw (46.59m) and ninth in the discus throw (39.39) at the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 8.

He threw the discus 42.55m at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational April 15, and posted a mark of 48.63m in the hammer throw at Lehigh’s Carol and John Covert Classic on April 29.

During the indoor season, Bailor placed eighth in the shot put (13.96m) and ninth in the weight throw (15.45m) at the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 20.

He finished fourth in the shot put at the Villanova Invitational with a mark of 15.22m on Jan. 22, and earned a sixth-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 15.58m at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 11.
