Deer is blamed for crash in Monroe County

A deer was blamed for a one-vehicle crash in Monroe County. State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred at 3:06 a.m. on June 21 at the intersection of Route 209 and Camellia Road, in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Kyle R. Ballow, 23, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2009 Ford Edge when he swerved to avoid a deer on the roadway.

The vehicle went onto the berm and hit a barnlike building on the south side.

Ballow was not injured.
