Monroe crashes

State police reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Monroe County roadways.

Crashes investigated by troopers at the Stroudsburg barracks:

• State police at Stroudsburg investigated a one-vehicle crash that was reported at 11:09 p.m. on June 12 along Paradise Road in Paradise Township.

Troopers said a 17-year-old man from Effort was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck southbound when a deer ran onto the road in front of him. He could not avoid the animal and struck it.

The teen and his 15-year-old male passenger from Swiftwater were not injured.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 3:44 a.m. on June 13 along Metzgar Road in Hamilton Township.

Troopers said Jakus Parzych, 26, of Effort, was driving a 2009 Mazda 3 westbound and lost control of the vehicle on a curve. He crossed the center lines and entered the eastbound lane, went onto the berm and the vehicle struck a rock, continued on and struck a barn.

Parzych was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• A motorcycle and car were involved in a crash on June 4 at 4:19 p.m. along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Stephen Y. Williams, 56, of Laurel Run, Luzerne County, driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson bike, and Jennifer C. Wentz, 27, of Kunkletown, driving a 2013 Subaru Legacy, were both southbound. Wentz slowed for traffic ahead of her with Williams’ bike hitting the rear of the Legacy.

Williams sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Wentz and her passenger were not injured.

The bike was towed and Williams was cited for following too closely.

• A Carbon County driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Monroe County on June 5 at 8:31 p.m. along Route 115 in Hamilton Township.

Police identified the drivers involved as Nathan D. Saxe, 21, of Lehighton, driving a 2014 Taotao Lancer motorcycle, and Richey M. Colleen-Ann, 36, of Smyrna, Delaware, driving a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta.

Troopers did not release details of the crash but noted that Saxe was cited for registration and certificate of title required; and Colleen-Ann was cited for turning movements and required signals.
