Tamaqua seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on June 2 with 29 members in attendance. President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the reading “It Makes a Difference.” Prayers were requested for Melody Weicker and Nancy Eisley.

Guests Rose Mikulski, Sara Huber and Dorothy Quigley were given a warm welcome.

The group also met on June 9 with 27 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “Butterflies and Eagles” by President Jean Machamer.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Vacation Bible School will be held at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle July 11-15, from 6-8:15 p.m.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will present the message at the 10:25 a.m. worship service at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle this Sunday. Holy Communion will also be celebrated along with honoring all fathers this Father’s Day.

Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. There is no prayer meeting this Wednesday.

Evening service will be special patriotic music presented by a community choir directed by Brenda Reed. This will take place at the church at 6:30 p.m.

VBS

Zion Church and Calvary Evangelical UMC are sponsoring Vacation Bible School at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle on July 11-15 from 6 to 8:15 p.m.

Child Evangelism Fellowship has announced dates for Good News Day Camp:

June 27-July 1: Tamaqua, Lewistown Valley; July 11-15: Valley View, Valley View Park; July 18-22: Pine Grove, Manbeck’s E.C. Church, Rock; July 25-29: Auburn, Christmas Pine Campground; Aug. 1-5: Ashland, Higher Ups Park (near Pioneer Tunnel).

American Primitive

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.

There will be no Sunday school until further notice. Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.
